As I have said I am taking a watercolor journaling class. The pear below was one of our assignments that I really had fun with.
Our next assingment was word art. Well, to say the least I got really hooked on that. The one on the right is my 2nd one.
The 4th of July one is also special to me because my birthday is the 5th of July and so it becomes a two day celebration
About a month ago I was in the library checking out books. They asked if they could take my picture for a marketing promo for MidContinent Libraries. I said yes, they asked what I did I said art teacher and artist. So they gave me a sign with the word Picasso on it.
Today I went back to the library as I do most weeks to check out books, and there is a big poster with my picture along with others promoting the library. They also made bookmarks with each of our pictures on them.
Below is a copy of the book mark with my picture on it. !!
What a hoot. I may be famous, yeah right.

ReplyDeleteHow cool ! congratulations - you ARE famous worldwide ! I am in Sydney, Australia viewing your photo in your local library . Isn't technology amazing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way , I really like your pear drawing - the blue and yellow colours are lively and the composition is exciting
That's so great! I love the word art. Did you do projects like that with your students? I'm thinking I should do some word art with their names, for a nice project in the first week of school. (even though I'm not their art teacher, I sneak it in) Your word art is so creative! Congratulations on being featured in the library. I imagine it would be very rewarding to be known in your community as an artist... I would love that!
ReplyDeleteMartha, That is great!! I love your picture! Hope you grab a bunch of extra bookmarks, never know when those will come in handy! You are really good at word Art. I find it difficult, I guess I don't know how to let myself go there! Keep on creating, it's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI used to collect pears until I ended up with over 75 of them!! I collected pear art too, catds, prints, paintings, plates for the wall. It really did look nice. So...your pear painting is my fave!
